Since day one, the Nike Cortez has been a trailblazer in design and fashion. FISK was tasked with designing the global retail direction for the product line in honor of its 45th anniversary.
Nike Beautiful x Power
Nike Cortez OG
To celebrate the brand’s pioneering sneaker design and 45-year-old heritage, Nike brought back the Cortez in the original colorway, red, white, and blue for the Summer 2017 season. Iconic in every sense of the word, Bill Bowerman’s Cortez continues to embody the comfort and cushion of a solid running shoe while simultaneously making its mark as a bold fashion staple and statement.
Effortlessly cool and chic, Farrah Fawcett championed the Cortez in the original ad campaign for Nike during the mid-1970’s. The same spirit is now channeled through Bella Hadid for the shoe’s reintroduction.

FISK set the global retail direction for the Nike MBX and Cortez OG, blue and red. In setting the direction through store furniture, pedestals, clothing fixtures, and window design, we drew inspiration from numerous angles. We pulled from the geometry and zig zags of the Cortez, the streets of Los Angeles, and the Olympics to create a cohesive and modern sentiment for a classic that can be translated in major Nike retail settings across the globe.
