FISK GALLERY PORTLANDFISK Gallery Portland operated at 3636B N. Mississippi Ave from 2014-16, founded by Bijan Berahimi and Michael Spoljaric. At this space we presented fifteen shows from artists all over the country and world. Artist works were presented in many forms, including: painting, sculpture, illustration, video and performance art. Operated out of the quaint space at the back of our dear friends Beacon Sound Record Store and Label, FISK Gallery was a neighborhood pillar and hub of contemporary art, music, and fun. Officially declared dead in April of 2016, the FISK Gallery archive can be viewed on this site.
FISK began in 2009 as extra-curricular project for founder Bijan Berahimi while studying graphic design at the California Institute for the Arts (CalArts). It started off as a periodical art zine and website for design and art students and faculty from around the world to collaborate and share. From 2009-13 FISK published 6 printed zines featuring work of hundreds of students and faculty from around the globe.
